Currently this article does not cover what an anti-cheat (kernel or otherwise) actually does.  What is its purpose?  How does it carry that out?  Why would a user care?
(Should also cover what are advantages of a kernel level anticheat over others.)
I guess KLAC might be used to prevent ad blockers from working, or might have a role in forcing one to use microtransactions.  Are they  like copy protection schemes?  Do they have any benefits for the users?  [[User:Drakeula|Drakeula]] ([[User talk:Drakeula|talk]]) 09:08, 21 September 2025 (UTC)

Broader implications of kernel driver abuse

[edit source]

This article is focused on kernel drivers when applied to anticheat software, however I'd argue there's also value in looking at the broader applications of this software and their repercussions, as seen in the crowdstrike outage last year, for example.

Do y'all reckon that warrants a separate wiki page? Fireye (talk) 23:21, 17 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
